The price of Brent crude on the London stock exchange ICE dropped by 5.4% to $49.95 per barrel.
The dollar was worth more than 62 rubles and the euro was worth 71 rubles at the Moscow Exchange, TASS reports.
The official dollar exchange rate of the Bank of Russia for October 13 is 61.1535 rubles. The official euro exchange rate increased to 69.5499 rubles.
