Chechnya ready for new school year

Schools of the North Caucasus Federal District are ready to celebrate the Day of Knowledge. Today we publish the information about achievements and challenges faced by representatives of the Chechen Ministry of Education.

Chechnya, as well as other regions, continues its systematic work towards the elimination of the third shift at schools. "This is a global issue, which is being solved throughout the whole year with the help of the local budget. It is not yet possible to quickly introduce the two-shift education in all the schools, because there are new demands every year. Starting from September 1, children with disabilities will attend school with other children, which requires additional costs," the department noted.

Despite this, the Chechen Republic is actively building new schools, so that children can study at a decent time. "Until the end of this year we plan to put 19 new schools into operation, it was discussed at a recent meeting with Vladimir Putin. So far in 2016, 5 schools have been built already, 3 schools will be opened by September 1, one school has been already opened in Gudermes. There is a very dynamic process in this direction," the press-service of the Ministry stressed.

With regard to the personnel issue, Chechnya is in step with the rest of Russia. "As in other regions, the older generation passes its experience to a new one, young teachers attend classes of senior teachers. There is a program for the support of new staff, implying additional payments to young teachers," the Chechen Ministry of Education said.

"The education system should take new scientific discoveries into account. There are new technologies and standards, and it turns out that Russia always falls behind a little. There are a lot of models in this sphere and we could learn something and move forward," the department concluded.
