The Chinese government has provided 10 million yuan ($1.6 million) in urgent humanitarian aid to Tajikistan.
"The Ministry of Commerce of China is organizing assistance of humanitarian aid and will continue to follow the development of the situation in Tajikistan and keep track of what needs to be done to eliminate consequences of the disaster," Interfax cited the Embassy of China in Dushanbe as saying.
Mudslides on July 17 and 21 killed seven people, five people are missing and more than 1000 people have been left homeless. The damage is estimated at $100 million.
