The European Union after Brexit will independently take decisions in the military-political sphere, Russia's Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov said.
According to him, many European leaders came to the conclusion that Europe's fate should be taken into its own hands. "And not only in the economic sphere. There are plans in the European Union to strengthen the foreign policy and defence potential," he said.
The diplomat drew attention to the fact that so far all projects to strengthen the military-political tools of the EU have been hampered by the UK. Accordingly, its withdrawal from the union will untie the hands of the remaining states, RIA Novosti reports.
