The chairman of Russia’s Central Electoral Commission, Vladimir Churov, plans to resign in the near future, a source close to the presidential administration and the staff of the CEC said.
The CEC can be headed by any one of its members: Stanislav Vavilov, Maya Grishina or secretary of the Russian CEC Nikolai Konkin.
According to another version, the commission will be headed by the former vice president of Tatarstan, an MP from the Communist Party, Vasily Likhachev.
