Construction of Turkish Stream receiving terminal reaches 95%

Construction progress of the receiving terminal for the Turkish Stream offshore gas pipeline has reached 95%, South Stream Transport B.V. reported.

"All works are in line with the schedule. First gas is expected to flow by the end of 2019," the statement reads.

When operational, the receiving terminal will measure gas flow, temperature, pressure and composition, before the gas is fed into the Turkish gas grid.

Turkish Stream will have the capacity to transit 31.5 billion cubic meters of gas per year, which is equal to the energy demand of 15 million homes.
