Sberbank: Turkish Stream may be connected to TAP

The Turkish Stream gas pipeline project in the future may be connected to the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP), Sberbank senior analyst for the oil and gas sector Andrei Gromadin said.

According to him, in the current configuration, the Turkish Stream is aimed at supplying gas to the Turkish market and to Eastern European countries including Bulgaria, Serbia and Hungary.

"Cooperation with other projects (including TAP) isn’t envisaged yet, but, in our opinion, it is possible in the future, if the demand in target markets is lower than planned," the analyst said, referring to the possibility of weakening demand in Western European countries.

"In the first place, these are Germany and Austria, which are the main gas sales markets for Gazprom," Trend cited him a saying.
