Criminal case initiated against Kyrgyzstan’s defense minister

The Anti-Corruption Service of the State National Security Committee of Kyrgyzstan initiated a criminal case against Kyrgyzstan’s defense minister, Abibila Kudaiberdiyev, on suspicion of abuse of power and embezzlement, the press service of the Anti-Corruption Service said.

The Anti-Corruption Service and the Military Prosecutor's Office conducted the search operations, which revealed a "corruption scheme on the illegal use of budgetary funds at the defense ministry."

Senior officials of the ministry illegally transferred the ministry’s budgetary funds through the Asker-Kurulush state enterprise to the accounts of private companies "for personal gain." 

A criminal case was filed against the defense minister, officials of the ministry, as well as some representatives of the Asker-Kurulush state enterprise on abuse of official position, forgery and embezzlement of property in accordance with the Criminal Code, RIA Novosti reports.
