A new speaker of the Turkish parliament will be elected February 24, 2019, Turkish media reported.
The newly elected speaker will be the 29th speaker of the Turkish parliament.
Current speaker of the Turkish Parliament Binali Yildirim will resign today at 20:00 local time in connection with the official nomination of his candidacy for the post of head of the Istanbul municipality.
MP from the Nationalist Movement Party (MHP) Celal Adan will temporary perform Yildirim’s duties.
