The former Georgian President and the head of the Odessa Regional State Administration, Mikheil Saakashvili, has appointed Russian opposition politician and social activist Maria Gaidar as his deputy.
According to Saakavshili, Gaidar will be responsible for the social sector.
Maria Gaidar, the daughter of Yegor Gaidar and the great-granddaughter of the writer Arkady Gaidar, is also known as a journalist of Ekho Moskvy.
