Ankara, Washington and their allies do not consider it possible to maintain Bashar Assad in power during a transition period, Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said in an interview with CNN.
According to him, the question is when Assad will leave.
"Millions of Syrian refugees are waiting for the day when they can return to their homes," the Turkish prime minister said, adding that "if Assad stays in power in Damascus, I don't think this will happen
"Now the most important thing for the Syrian people is to see the light at the end of the tunnel," RIA Novosti cited Davutoglu as saying.
