The world community needs to develop a common action strategy, which will combine both air strikes and ground operations, to defeat Islamic State, Turkey’s Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu said in an interview with CNN.
"We need to discuss together the participation of ground forces in the operation. There is a need of an integrated strategy including air campaign and ground troops," RIA Novosti cited him saying.
The prime minister stressed that his country cannot take all this burden alone, but it is ready to take part in joint actions.
Davutoglu also expressed concern that in the case of the preservation of "power vacuum" on the ground, another terrorist group may emerge. According to him, it can happen even during a ground operation against IS.
