EEU introduces unified trademark registration

EEU businessmen will be able to register their brands in other countries of the Union after a draft intergovernmental agreement was approved at a meeting of the Armenian government today.

Applications for trademark registration may be addressed to the patent office of any EEU country. After the publication of the application, the patent authorities of other EEU countries will conduct an examination of trademarks, and a decision will be taken on the basis of these examinations, news.am reports.

The applicant must pay a registration fee to the country's patent authority, although he may be a resident of another country.
