The European Union will continue to support the ongoing reforms in Armenia, the High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Federica Mogherini, said at the meeting with the Acting Foreign Minister of Armenia Edward Nalbandian held within the framework of the 71st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
Mogherini also welcomed the recent agreement reached between the authorities and the parliamentary opposition in Armenia, with respect to the new Electoral Code of the country, and noted that this was an important step in the run-up to the parliamentary elections next year, NEWS.am reports with reference to the Armenian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Mogherini and Nalbandian also reflected on the interim negotiations that were conducted on Monday in Brussels, along the lines of the new Armenia-EU framework agreement, and expressed satisfaction with their effective course.
