EU foreign ministers will meet on Monday in Brussels to discuss preparation of a new partnership agreement with Azerbaijan.
The discussion will take place at a meeting of foreign ministers at the EU Council in the framework of the 'Eastern Partnership' discussion.
The mandate to start negotiations on a new agreement on strategic modernization partnership between the EU and Azerbaijan is expected to be issued before the end of this year, the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan, Mahmud Mammed-Guliyev, said.
Today the European Union is the main trade partner of Azerbaijan.
