EXCLUSIVE. Maria Zakharova: we are doing everything necessary to investigate plane crash in Egypt

Today Vestnik Kavkaza visited Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova. She spoke about the wide range of issues on the agenda of Russian foreign policy in an exclusive interview, including the Syrian settlement, the migration crisis in Europe and cooperation with Egypt on the investigation into the crash of the Kogalymavia plane in the Sinai Peninsula.

According to her, the most important means of establishing the causes of the incident is the work of the experts at the scene. "We are doing everything necessary for it. In the first hours after the disaster we received assurances from the Egyptian side that we will be given all the help we need to ensure that the investigation of the Russian side is unimpeded," Maria Zakharova said.

"I can say that the Egyptian side has kept its word. In fact, we are working in tight coordination, and all the assistance that we need is being provided. This is very important," she stressed.

The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry called on journalists not to replicate false versions of what happened. "All conclusions about the causes, their confirmation and the official versions may be announced only after the specialists and experts make their conclusions on the basis of what they see at the site of the disaster, the data they get from the Egyptian side and their analysis. Only then we can talk about causation," the Russian diplomat noted.

"I respect both journalists and people who are not indifferent to this issue, but I believe that the first discussions are not serious and one cannot rely on them," Maria Zakharova noted.
