The optimization of the Commonwealth activities was one of the topics of today's meeting of the CIS Council of Foreign Ministers, the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov stated in an exclusive interview with Vestnik Kavkaza today on the sidelines of the meeting.
"We discussed the issue of optimization of the CIS activities and institutions. Now there is an understanding that the Commonwealth structure is too inflated. The initiative of the relevant report at the Council of Heads of State and Council of Heads of Government was proposed by Kazakhstan. There are serious questions about the CIS financing, because not everyone pays money to the budget on time," Elmar Mammadyarov said.
