Erdogan: Europe shuts its doors to refugees

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has blamed European countries for abandoning Syrian refugees to their fate.

“Countries with much higher gross national products than Turkey have closed their doors to refugees,” he told CNN, noting that currently there are 2.2 million refugees in Turkey.

The Turkish President also touched on the issue of a safe zone in northern Syria, which may help in resolving the immigration crisis, RIA Novosti reports.
