European Parliament abandons strategic partnership with Russia

The European Parliament has adopted a resolution today, according to which Russia can no longer be considered a strategic partner of the European Union.

The document was backed by 402 lawmakers. A total of 163 members of parliament voted against the resolution, while 83 MEPs abstained.

In addition, the resolution calls for stopping the Nord Stream 2 project, urges to impose new sanctions on Russia and limit Moscow's access to finances and technologies.
