The number of Russian tourists visiting Turkey's Antalya rose to 1.1 million in the first six months of the year, up from only 25,000 in the same period of 2016, data from Antalya Airport has showed.
A total of 584,000 Russians visited Antalya in June, according to official data released on July 1, up from just 7,718 in June 2016, amid diplomatic tension between Ankara and Moscow.
Some 1.2 million tourists arrived in Antalya in June, with an increase of more than 100 percent year-on-year, Hurriyet Daily reported.
According to the Association of Tour Operators of Russia (ATOR), every second tourist came to Antalya from Russia in June.
