Russian education is widely represented in Azerbaijan, which makes it possible to speak of an increasing number of Azerbaijani applicants in Russian universities in the future, dean of the HSE Faculty of Law Evgeny Salygin said, speaking with the correspondent of Vestnik Kavkaza on the sidelines of the 12th Azerbaijan International Education Exhibition.
"I think that Azerbaijan’s potential is great. Fortunately, much of what unites us has been preserved in the republic. Some other countries also have Russian schools, but they are widely represented here. In this regard, the potential for an increasing number of applicants from Azerbaijan to Russia. I think that the more often we participate in such exhibitions and other Azerbaijani educational events, the greater will be the number of people who want to study in Russia," he said.
Yevgeny Salygin praised the exhibition of education in Baku. "I liked the organization when many Russian universities - Moscow, St. Petersburg and from other regions - are represented on the same site. This is very useful for visitors to the exhibition, as they can see the diversity of Russian education. Rossotrudnichestvo and the Association of Russian Universities play a very important role and Azerbaijan, optimizing financial costs and uniting at the exhibition everyone who considers it important to promote their universities in Azerbaijan," the dean of the HSE Faculty of Law stressed.
"And, of course, it’s important for us that Azerbaijan is a country with, mainly, Russian-speaking population and a pedagogical elite, which was formed in Soviet times. Azerbaijani teachers have a lot of common with us, and I think they will be able to covey to their pupils and students the importance and significance of Russian education. We have maintained Russia's ties with Azerbaijan in the field of education through them and will try to keep them at the level of a new generation, our future bachelor and master degree graduates," Yevgeny Salygin concluded.
