First Crimean Muslims travel to holy places for Hajj

The first group of 150 pilgrims has left from Crimea to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj.

This Hajj will establish a record for the Crimean Tatars, as 322 people received a quota this year.

"The quota for pilgrims from Crimea contains 300 seats. However, taking into account the activity of the Crimean Muslims, it was increased to 322 people. We broke the record last year, when we sent 150 pilgrims. When Crimea was a part of Ukraine we sent about 100 people,’’ said Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic Ruslan Balbec, Tass reports.
