President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has issued an order amending the rules for acquisition and use of service and civilian weapons.
In accordance with the amendments, foreign nationals engaged in protecting and escorting heads of state and government of other countries (and their families) and responsible international organizations, employees of public and other security agencies can perform their duties in Azerbaijan with their own service weapons and ammunition, abc.az reports.
They should apply through the Foreign Ministry’s channels for permission from the Special State Protection Service of Azerbaijan, which, in its turn, informs the Ministry of Internal Affairs on the granting of such permission.
