Former PM of Kazakhstan appointed Secretary of State

Kazakhstan's Former Prime Minister Bakytzhan Sagintayev was appointed as Secretary of State by President Nursultan Nazarbayev on March 1.

Sagintayev said in his statement that the president, "a founding father of the Kazakh government," always makes decisions in the interests of the country and people.

Ex-First Deputy Prime Minister Askar Mamin was appointed the new prime minister of Kazakhstan, AKIpress reported.

Nazarbayev fired Sagintayev's government on February 21.
