Former Zimbabwe President Robert Mugabe dies aged 95

Zimbabwe ex-President Robert Mugabe has died at the age of 95, incumbent Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa reported.

"It is with the utmost sadness that I announce the passing on of Zimbabwe's founding father and former President, Cde Robert Mugabe," he wrote on Twitter.

According to BBC, Mugabe died in a hospital in Singapore where he arrived for treatment a few months ago.

Mugabe led Zimbabwe for 37 years since the country declared independence in 1980. In 1980-1987, he served as prime minister before abolishing the office and becoming president instead.
