Garik Ghukasyan appointed chief of Yerevan police

Chief of Armenian Police Valeriy Osipyan has signed a decree to appoint a new head of the Yerevan City Police Department. 

Garik Ghukasyan, a member of the Police Advisory Body, will be in charge of the central headquarters starting from October 4. 

He earlier served as a deputy chief in operational investigations at the City Police, Tert reported.

Artak Poghosyan, the former chief of Yerevan Police, was dismissed from office under an earlier decree.
