Georgia's Patriarch Ilia II urged two presidential candidates to worthily meet victory or the failure in the second round of elections.
"I am happy that I see ministers, presidential candidates in the cathedral on the Saint George’s day," Agenda.ge cited him as saying.
The Georgian Patriarch expressed confidence that presidential candidates will meet both victory and failure similarly.
"The one who will win should not think that he/she is better than others. I am sure that you will stand together and help each other," Ilia II said and handed the icons of Saint George to the candidates.
The presidential election runoff is scheduled on November 28.
The Georgian Dream endorsed presidential candidate Salome Zurabishvili and the opposition candidate Grigol Vashadze will run in the second round of elections, as none of them were able to receive more than 50% of votes in the first round on October 28.
