Gerasimov holds phone talk with NATO Military Committee chairman

Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces, General Valeriy Gerasimov and Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Air Chief Marshal Sir Stuart Peach spoke on the phone today, according to the Alliance's website.

"The phone call demonstrates the continued mutual interest to maintain military lines of communication to promote predictability, in line with NATO’s policy of transparency and ongoing dialogue at the political level with senior Russian leadership," the statement reads.

It was noted that Gerasimov and Peach agreed to continue using the military lines of communication in the future.

NATO added that channels of political and military communication remain open to exchange information on issues of concern, reduce misunderstandings and increase predictability.
