The ministry of national security of Azerbaijan has captured 5 citizens of the country participating in illegal activities of the terrorist organization Islamic State, the ministry said.
As a result of the operation, the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan – Shirkhan Khasayli, Rovshan Mikayilov, Elshan Adilov, Vugar Hajiyev and Azer Eyyubov – were detained as suspects for the creation of armed formations or groups, supplying them with weapons, ammunition, explosives, military engineering and military equipment," TASS reports.
The terms of imprisonment for the above-noted crimes in the law of Azerbaijan have been increased to 20 years or life.
