An award ceremony has been held yesterday evening as part of the Italian President Sergio Mattarella’s official visit to Azerbaijan.
The Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s Orders on awarding "Heydar Aliyev" Order to President of the Italian Republic Sergio Mattarella, "Shohrat" Order to his daughter Laura Mattarella, and "Dostlug" Order to Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the Italian Republic Enzo Moavero Milanesi were read out.
The Orders read that the Italian President Sergio Mattarella is awarded for his special services rendered to the development of friendship and cooperation, Laura Mattarella for her activities rendered to the strengthening of humanitarian relations, and Enzo Moavero Milanesi for services rendered to the strengthening of intergovernmental relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Italian Republic.
President Aliyev presented the orders.
The Orders on awarding the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev with Grand Cross with Collar of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic and first lady Mehriban Aliyeva with Grand Cross of the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic signed by the President of the Italian Republic - head of the Order of Merit - were then announced.
President Mattarella presented the orders.
