President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has met the Secretary General of the World Customs Organization, Kunio Mikuriya, to discuss the prospects of bilateral cooperation.
The head of state noted the successful interaction between Baku and the World Customs Organization, and pointed out a number of practical steps which have been taken in Azerbaijan to modernize the customs system. Ilham Aliyev added that reforms to ease customs procedures are being carried out in the country.
Kunio Mikuriya, in his turn, said that international transportation management issues are of profound importance to many countries. He also expressed hope that the World Customs Organization's 10th PICARD conference in Baku will contribute positively to these issues, Interfax-Azerbaijan reports.
