Italian Foreign Minister Paolo Gentiloni compared the bomb attacks in Ankara, in which at least 97 people died, to the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack in New York.
"It was a brutal attack, a sort of Turkish September 11," he said, adding that "what is most striking is that people were protesting against war".
