Italy delays extension of EU sanctions against Russia
Italy has once again delayed an attempt to extend the European Union's economic sanctions against the Russian Federation, despite an accord reached by EU diplomats earlier this week for sanctions to be prolonged by another six months, Radio Free Europe reports,

EU sources tell RFE/RL that Rome wants special language to be included in the conclusions of the EU’s June 28-29 summit before it signs off on the deal to extend the sanctions against Russia over the illegal annexation of Crimea and aggression against Ukraine.

Italy wants the summit conclusions to acknowledge a commitment for Brussels to review Russian policy later in 2016.
