Japan has allocated a grant of $1 million to a project for reducing the amount of non-revenue water in Iran, Iranian media report.
The project will be implemented in the city of Khansar in the Isfahan Province of Iran. According to Water and Wastewater Engineering Co. Deputy CEO Hamid Reza Tashayoee, currently the loss of water in this city is 60%, and after the project, it will be reduced to 15-17%, Trend reports.
The loss of water in Iran on average is about 26% on average, 14% of which is water that goes to waste in pipes. Japan is highly experienced in water management: at the end of the Second World War the loss of water was 80% and now it is 4%.
