US Secretary of State John Kerry paid a quick visit to Tbilisi, Georgia’s Foreign Ministry said.
Kerry and Georgia’s Deputy Foreign Minister David Zalkaliani met briefly in Tbilisi today. The officials met as Kerry’s plane landed at Tbilisi International Airport for a technical stop-over earlier this afternoon.
John Kerry stressed the impressive progress Georgia has achieved in the process of democratic, political and economic development”, Georgia’s Foreign Ministry said in a press release.
"The US Secretary of State reconfirmed the importance of Georgia’s role in the region. He wished success for the Government of Georgia and personally for Prime Minister Giorgi Kvirikashvili, who, he said, is playing an important role in Georgia’s development in the right direction,” Agenda.ge cited the statement as saying.
