Head of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, called Joseph Stalin a tyrant. He expressed his opinion in connection with the deportation of the Chechen and Ingush peoples, carried out in 1944.
Kadyrov explained that, despite the many tragedies and wars experienced by the Chechen people, its suffered the most because of Stalin, who deprived people of their native land.
