A Su-25 military jet of the Armenian Armed Forces has gone missing this morning, the country's Defense Ministry said in a statement.
The jet took off at 10:06 from the Gyumri airport for a regular training flight. The contact with the plane was lost at around 10:20am (9:20 MSK), Sputnik Armenia reported.
The Defense Ministry's press secretary Artsrun Hovhannisyan said that the Su-25 crew consisted of two men.
After almost four hours of search operations the plane had allegedly been found in a gorge near the village of Bardzrashen in the Shirak Province.
Both pilots - Lieutenant Colonel Armen Babayan and Major Movses Manukyan - have died, the press secretary of the Armenian Defense Minister wrote on his Facebook page.
