Members of the lower house of Kazakhstan’s parliament have addressed the president with a request to dissolve the Majilis, MP Nurlan Abdirov, said.
MP Vladislav Kosarev, in his turn, said that they propose early termination of the powers of the deputies of the fifth convocation. "In order to synchronize our actions in implementing reforms at all levels, it is necessary to combine parliamentary elections with elections to local maslikhats," Interfax cited him a saying.
The chairman of the Ak Zhol party, Azat Peruashev, noted that early parliamentary elections are a necessary measure.
According to him, this step is necessary to "form a new parliament, which will be mandated to complete the people's confidence and self-realization of the reforms and anti-crisis strategy of our state."
The President may decide to dissolve the Majilis after consultations with the chairmen of both chambers of Parliament and the Prime Minister.
Early elections should be scheduled no later than in two months’ time.
