Georgia has always supported and supports the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan, Georgian Defense Minister Tina Khidasheli said in a telephone conversation with her Azerbaijani colleague Zakir Hasanov.
The defense ministers discussed the latest situation on the contact line of Azerbaijani and Armenian troops.
Khidasheli expressed hope for the soonest settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict in line with the norms of international law, Trend reports with reference to the press service of the Defense Ministry of Azerbaijan.
Recall, on the night of April 2 all frontier positions of Azerbaijan were exposed to heavy fire from large-caliber weapons, mortars, grenade launchers and guns. In addition, Azerbaijani settlements near the front line, densely populated by civilians, were shelled.
