The rules of selecting participants of Eurovision are general for all countries and Ukraine will have to follow them, the Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said.
"Eurovision is an international contest and the hosting side should follow the Eurovision rules. All the rest is in their competence," TASS cited Peskov as saying.
Speaking on whether Russia should skip Eurovision on Ukraine’s territory, he said: "It is early to rattle a sabre!"
Ukrainian MP Anton Geraschenko said that the representatives of Russia who voice their support "for Russia’s aggression against Ukraine" will not be able to perform at the next year’s contest. Only those singers who do not support Crimea’s reunification with Russia will be able to take part in the song competition, he said.
