The Armenian Agriculture Minister, Sergo Karapetyan, and the Iranian Ambassador to Armenia, Mohammad Raiesi, have opened the largest slaughterhouse in Armenia in the city of Masis in Ararat province. It was established by the Golden Cleaver Company.
The 2400-square-meter slaughterhouse is equipped with everything necessary for work. As many as 200 units of cattle can be slaughtered per shift.
"Today the biggest slaughterhouse has been commissioned, which will allow us to increase meat exports to neighboring countries, and this will contribute to cattle breeding in our country," Aka cited the minister as saying.
Sergo Karapetyan also stressed that the cattle will be slaughtered according to halal rules, and this will remove the problem of exporting meat to Islamic countries.
Iranian Ambassador, in his turn, noted that Armenian meat products are in high demand in his country.
