Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said at a meeting with the co-leader of the Peoples' Democratic Party of Turkey, Selahattin Demirtas, that the relations between the peoples of Russia and Turkey will remain friendly despite the current actions of the Turkish authorities.
"We are going through a period which is not the best one in the history of Russian-Turkish relations," he said. "But our attitude to the action which was sanctioned by the current Turkish leadership regarding the Russian aircraft doesn't affect our attitude to the whole Turkish nation," Lavrov stressed.
