The vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Goodwill Ambassador of the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, Leyla Aliyeva, has met with the FAO Director-General, Jose Graziano da Silva, at the headquarters of the organization in Rome.
She participated in the presentations and discussions about the activity of the organization. The director of the FAO office for corporate communications, Enrique Yeves, hailed Leyla Aliyeva's participation at the event.
They also discussed the resource mobilization program in Azerbaijan and in the region.
In addition, Leyla Aliyeva met with FAO Director-General Jose Graziano da Silva, who also hailed the activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and stressed the importance of the IDEA Public Union's environmental projects. According to him, the work carried out in Azerbaijan towards reducing poverty could be an example for other countries.
The vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Leyla Aliyeva, noted successful cooperation between Azerbaijan and FAO. She also spoke of the humanitarian activity of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, its projects covering various countries, and the activity of the IDEA Public Union.
The FAO Director-General expressed gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and his spouse Mehriban Aliyeva for their efforts towards the opening of the office, after which an official ceremony to mark the start of activity of vice-president of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Leyla Aliyeva as FAO Goodwill Ambassador was held.
