British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss commented on the involvement of the CSTO forces in Kazakhstan amid the ongoing unrest there.
She stressed that Nur-Sultan has the sovereign right to choose its allies.
"We must respect the fact that Kazakhstan has a sovereign right to choose its allies," RIA Novosti quotes Truss as saying.
The head of the department noted that any deployed force must have a clear mission and act accordingly.
Earlier, Truss said that London condemns the violence in Kazakhstan and is holding consultations with allies on resolving the situation in the republic.
