The agreement between Russia, Saudi Arabia and Qatar to freeze oil production to stabilize the market situation is historic, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said.
He thanked those OPEC members willing to join Venezuela in its efforts to achieve the restoration of fair oil prices, and Russia.
"It's no exaggeration when we say that the statement which was made on Tuesday in Doha is historic," TASS cited Maduro as saying.
Maduro noted that "there is the longest period of low oil prices for 45 years in the global market." He explained it was due to the consequences of the 'economic war' unleashed by the United States to harm the economies of such countries as Russia, Iran and Venezuela.
