Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev held a meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping in Moscow.
"Governments continue their work, we hold our regular meetings," the Russian Prime Minister said, recalling that last year such a meeting was held in St. Petersburg. He also announced plans to visit China this year.
Medvedev called the visit of the Chinese President another milestone "on the way to strengthening strategic partnership and interaction." He expressed confidence that this visit will improve bilateral relations, stressing that "they have already reached an absolutely unprecedented level."
Xi Jinping, in turn, pointed to the favorable development of Russia's economy. "I would like to congratulate you on the progress in social and economic development, I sincerely wish Russia great, bright achievements on the path of development and revival," TASS cited him as saying.
The Chinese leader also spoke for expanding the spheres of bilateral cooperation "in the spirit of mutual support and openness, in order to create joint conditions for joint development."
