Russia's honored journalist, the laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation in literature and arts, first Deputy General Director of TASS Mikhail Gusman celebrates his 70th anniversary today.
He is also known as a host of the popular TV programme Formula of Power.
Gusman said he plans to celebrate his birthday in native Baku, TASS reported.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Vice President of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva congratulated the first Deputy General Director of TASS on his birthday.
Mikhail Gusman was born on January 23, 1950. He graduated from the Azerbaijan University of Languages and the Journalism Department of the Baku Higher School of Political Science.
In 1995, he was appointed Vice President of the ANKOM-TASS international analytical agency, in 1998 - head of the Main Department for International Cooperation at ITAR TASS. In 2000, Gusman was appointed First Deputy Director General of ITAR TASS by Order of the Russian President.
Mikhail Gusman is Executive Secretary of the World Association of Russian Press (WARP), Vice President of the European Alliance of News Agencies (EANA), Secretary General of the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA).
Gusman is the recipient of numerous state awards from foreign countries, as well as Russian representative at the UNESCO International Programme for the Development of Communication (IPDC).
