Relations between Russia and Azerbaijan have successfully developed across all areas this year, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Moscow Rahman Mustafayev said.
Russian-Azerbaijani relations have made significant progress in practically all directions over the past year, despite the situation surrounding the crash of the AZAL Embraer 190 aircraft a year ago, Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Russia Rahman Mustafayev said.
"The fundamental issue in bilateral relations today is the swift and fair resolution of all matters related to last December's tragedy," Rahman Mustafayev said.
The diplomat explained that Azerbaijan awaits the completion of the investigation into the tragedy that occurred on December 25 of last year. He noted that Baku hopes for the prompt payment of compensations and for those responsible to be held accountable, Lenta.ru reports.
"The statements made and agreements reached on October 9 in Dushanbe are an important step in this direction," Rahman Mustafayev said.
