NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg said that the Alliance is still ready for dialogue with Russia on arms control and does not want a new arms race.
"While we must respond to the presence of new Russian missiles in Europe, we will not mirror what Russia does. NATO has no intention to deploy land-based nuclear missiles in Europe," he said at the 65th NATO Parliamentary Assembly Plenary Session in London.
According to Stoltenberg, NATO does not want a new arms race. "We remain open to constructive dialogue with Russia and committed to effective arms control, disarmament and non-proliferation," the NATO head noted.
