Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbayev said that the government should resign after what he said was a failure to raise real incomes, boost jobs and improve living standards, according to the statement on the Akorda website.
"I, as the president and the guarantor of the constitution, taking into account the interests of our people, make the following decision. I believe that the government should resign," Sputnikc ited him as saying.
Nazarbayev said the new cabinet should work out steps to raise the living standard.
